Getting started with cssbuy spreadsheet in Australia

A cssbuy spreadsheet is a shortlist, not a shopfront. This first guide explains what the phrase covers, which details belong in your own list, and how to read a listing clue without confusing it with the original product information.

Keep the same columns for every candidate and comparisons stop being guesswork.

Why a cssbuy spreadsheet is worth the effort

Shortlists usually fail for boring reasons. A tab gets closed, a size note is forgotten, and two similar listings blur into one memory by the time you sit down to decide. Writing the same fields for every candidate forces the differences into view.

In Australia there is a second reason. Many listings describe fit with US, UK or EU labels, and those labels do not translate cleanly to what you already own. Recording a measurement in centimetres beside the label gives you something stable to compare, even when the label is unfamiliar.

Three things people mix up

  • A guide like this one explains a checking routine. It does not contain product data.
  • A category page is a shelf in the store. It groups items so you can browse a narrower set.
  • The original product information is the listing that belongs to the seller. That is the only place where measurements, materials, availability and after-sales terms actually apply to the item.

Keeping those three apart is the whole point. A note in your sheet is your own record; it can be out of date the moment a listing changes.

The columns worth keeping

ColumnWhat to writeWhy it helps
CategoryThe shelf you found it onStops you comparing a tote with a belt
MeasurementOne key number, in centimetresThe only stable comparison across labels
Material noteThe seller's own wordingLets you compare like with like later
AUD budgetThe most you will spend on that rowKeeps the total honest before delivery
Delivery noteWeight or volume if it is listedFeeds the estimate in guide 15

One commute, read as a sheet

Picture a Tuesday: a train trip, a walk to the office and a five-a-side game after work. Three rows appear. For the walk, a pair of sneakers needs your foot length in centimetres and the seller chart, not the number you wore as a teenager. For the office, a bag needs the internal width against a 14-inch laptop and a measured strap drop. For the game, a jersey needs chest width and length.

None of those notes require you to buy anything. They simply mean the next visit to a category page takes minutes instead of an evening.

Independence matters. This site is a guide. It does not sell, ship or take payment, and it is not an official CSSBuy channel. Purchases happen on Luxury Spreadsheet.

Your first ten minutes

Before you open a category

  1. Write five column headings: category, key measurement, material note, AUD budget, delivery note.
  2. Measure one item you already wear well, and keep that number visible.
  3. Decide the total you are willing to spend, including the delivery leg.
  4. Open one category, not five, and log three candidates only.
  5. Return to the listing before you act on anything you wrote.

Where to go next

Once the sheet has a shape, the next step is choosing the right shelf. Read the category map for a walk through all twelve categories, or head back to the cssbuy spreadsheet home page to open a category directly.
