Accessories to compare in cssbuy spreadsheet

Small items hide big differences. A belt that is two centimetres too short or a scarf that is the wrong weight for the season turns into a drawer ornament. This guide gives you a measuring-first way to compare accessories without inventing details a listing does not show.

Accessories are small, so one wrong number matters more.

Start with how it is worn

Before you compare any listing in the accessories category, write one sentence: where will this go, and what will it sit against? A belt sits at the waist of specific trousers. A scarf sits around a neck over a specific coat. Sunglasses sit on your face. That sentence decides which numbers matter.

What to measure for each type

ItemKey numbersCheck against
BeltTotal length, width, buckle fitA belt you already wear on the middle hole
ScarfLength, width, fabric wordingA scarf you already wear in the same season
EyewearLens width, bridge, arm lengthThe numbers printed inside a pair you like
Small goodsWidth, height, card slots if listedWhat you carry daily

Material wording: copy, do not guess

Write the seller's description exactly. "Leather" and "leather-look" are very different statements, and "silk blend" does not tell you the proportion. If there is no material information, record "not stated" and treat it as a question rather than assuming the best. Hardware wording such as "metal" or "alloy" is worth recording too, since buckles and clasps are what fail first.

Styling: what pairs with what

Accessories are rarely bought alone. A good test is to name two outfits the piece must work with. If you cannot, it probably is not a necessary purchase. Colour and finish matter too: a brushed buckle and a polished buckle can clash with each other if you wear both, so note the finish in a spare column.

No real data, no claims. If a listing shows no dimensions, we only offer the checking steps. Ask for the missing measurements before you buy.

Accessories checklist

For each candidate

  1. Write how and where it will be worn.
  2. Record the key measurements for that item type.
  3. Compare with something you already own.
  4. Copy the material and hardware wording.
  5. Name two outfits it must work with.
  6. Add an AUD ceiling before you move on.

Where to go next

Footwear and accessories often go together, so see the designer shoes guide as well. When your shortlist is ready, run it through the final shopping checklist, and return to the cssbuy spreadsheet home page to open a category.
